We perform radon inspections accordance with state licensing requirements and department of health approved quality assurance plan.We use Sun Nuclear 1027 radon monitors. These are for continuous monitoring during short term (usually 48 hours)testing. They must be calibrated once per year by a certified lab. These are very accurate monitors, not charcoal canisters and provide an hourly readout of radon levels and a detailed electronic report. We recomend that you connect to the EPA site and educate yourself on Radon. The Ohio department of health performs licensing of radon professionals and you can verify that you are using a licensed professional on there site. Do not use unlicensed radon inspectors. Most counties in Ohio are at risk for high radon levels and it is recommended by Amerispec to have the home you are thinking of buying tested for Radon. If the home fails a radon test then the seller will be required to pay for a costly mitgation system,it is standard to have this written into your purchase agreement. Give us a call at 937-623-0982 if you have questions about radon, or testing. |
